Artist Statement

The creation of great art is the primary intention when I paint.  Having something worthy to say is another. As is the explanation of  themes and concepts which are intended to elicit an emotional and human connection.  Expressing the correlation between the audio and visual, and voicing hues to portray visual perceptions of traditional themes in contemporary images is fundamental to the works.  New formations of canvases to complement depicted contents, enhance the visual experience  by eliminating unnecessary image verbiage, and directing attention to the essence of the thought.

The narratives, told on large oil painted canvases, are visualized conversations and views of a reality that seems to exist but does not, just as a dream seems to be real, but is not.  Within this context, through a semi-realistic style,   the innate ability to read and understand the themes and images is a basic tenet, and is reflective of an egalitarian approach to art. All of these elements converge into an invitation to  explore and discover  new imagery, brilliant colorations and placements, with the intention to generate the WOW factor, and being able to transpose ideas   through the eyes and understanding of a woman.
